Many services have an offline mode. Before your departure from Switzerland, download and save your Spotify playlist, a map of your vacation destination, etc. on your mobile phone.
Apps often use less data than a complex search with a browser. It is therefore better to use apps for services you need regularly.
Living near the border
To prevent your mobile phone from automatically connecting to a foreign mobile network near the border, which leads to roaming charges, you can manually select the Sunrise mobile network. You can find the directions for manual network selection in the instructions for mobile phones and tablets. When you travel abroad, we recommend that you switch back to automatic network selection.
It doesn't have to be expensive – our Roaming Tips in PDF format.
The roaming cost limit includes the roaming costs incurred within one calendar month for calls/SMS/MMS and surfing abroad, excluding any fees for roaming options or roaming data packages.
To enable roaming that’s not already included, an individual monthly cost limit must be set up in the Roaming Cockpit or My Sunrise. When 50% and 100% of the established limit is reached, a notification will be sent by SMS for cost control purposes. Once the cost limit has been reached, roaming will be blocked until the end of the month. The individual cost limit can be changed at any time.
Free roaming services (incoming SMS and access to the Roaming Cockpit) can also be used around the world without a cost limit.
