QR-bill
Introduction of QR-bills
The introduction of QR-bills was rolled out across Switzerland on June 30, 2020. As a result, red and orange payment slips will be completely replaced by September 30, 2022.
At Sunrise, the transition to QR-bills will be staggered beginning on September 20, 2021. This means that from this date, you will increasingly receive your bill or other documents with payment slips via a QR code, instead of an orange payment slip. You can find out how easy it is to pay your QR-bill on this page.
This is how the QR-bill looks
Just like the red and orange payment slips, the QR-bill consists of a receipt (1) and a payment part (2). The QR code (3) contains all the payment information, like the recipient, amount etc. The same information is also listed to the right of the QR code in text form (4).

Paying your QR-bill
The best way to pay your QR-bill is by mobile banking (mobile device) or via online banking (desktop):
Mobile banking
Open the banking app.
Scan the QR code using the QR reader.
Review the information and make the payment.
Online-Banking
Open online banking.
Scan the QR code with the QR reader or computer camera.
Review the information and make the payment.
Tip
Scanning the QR code with all payment information saves time and prevents typos.
Paying at the post office counter
Paying at the counter of a post office branch or mailing payment orders to your bank are still possible. Simply detach the bottom part of your Sunrise bill as usual. Present this part with the payment information at the post office counter or send it as a payment order to your bank. In this regard, nothing changes for you.
Introduction of QR-bills
No. If necessary, you can manually type in the payment information to the right of the QR code. However, we recommend paying via the QR code to save time.
Another alternative to paying with a QR code is the eBill. You directly receive the Sunrise bill in your online banking account, where you can approve the payment.
Since all the payment information is already contained in the QR code, there is no need to type this information in and there is no risk of typos. You therefore save time and pay in an instant.
Yes. To do this, as before, you only need the bottom part of the bill with the payment information. Detach this part at the perforation and present it at the post office counter.
No, not yet. This option will be made available in the future.
Yes, the payment details will change with the introduction of the QR-bill. From September 30, 2022, payment with the old payment details will no longer be possible. Therefore, payment details in payment templates or in the master data must be adjusted.
As you were already informed by your financial services provider, your ERP software should already be able to process QR-bills as of June 30, 2020. We therefore assume you are already able to process our QR-bills. Please ensure that our new payment details are adjusted in your master data. Otherwise, the payments can no longer be processed after September 30, 2022.
