Smart WiFi solution
The WiFi Extender is part of a fully integrated Smart WiFi solution, along with your Connect Box modem, for boosting the WiFi signal. The WiFi Extender communicates directly with your Connect Box modem to create a seamless mesh WiFi network throughout your home.
Make sure the power button is set to «ON».
The automatic connection process can take up to ten minutes while the WiFi Extender configures itself. Once the LEDs are continuously lit up white, this means the WiFi Extender has finished configuring and establishing the connection.

Tips for positioning your WiFi Extender
Position your WiFi Extender close enough to your modem. If the WiFi Extender is too far away from the modem, this will affect the signal strength.
That’s why we recommend positioning your WiFi Extender no more than six to nine metres from your modem, ideally no further than one corridor or two rooms away.
If you’re using several WiFi Extenders, please also make sure that the gaps between each of them do not exceed this distance.
Partition walls barely absorb WiFi waves. Thanks to the permeability of partition walls, the WiFi waves can be diffused 360 degrees and thus cover a significantly larger area.
It’s therefore better to position your WiFi Extenders along partition walls as opposed to solid external walls.
Position the WiFi Extenders and modems in a direct line of sight from each other. Solid walls or objects with their own radiation (e.g. microwaves or baby monitors) interfere with the WiFi waves of the WiFi Extenders.
Meaning of the LED signals
Slowly flashing green light: You’ll see a green light flashing on the WiFi Extender when you first turn it on. The LED will continue to flash green until it connects to your Connect Box modem. Please wait at least ten minutes for the connection to be established.
Fast flashing green light: Either the WiFi Extender is optimising and updates are being carried out, or you’re currently locating your extender via your Sunrise Connect App using the «Find my Extender» web service.
White dimmed light: A white dimmed light that is permanently lit indicates normal operation and a successful connection to your Connect Box modem.
If this is your first installation, it can take up to 24 hours for the extender to optimise the WiFi connection. If the signal is still not good after this period, try positioning the extender in a different location or use the Sunrise Connect App to test the quality of the connection.Flashing white light: The WiFi Extender has lost its connection to the rest of your WiFi network and is trying to reconnect. This could be down to an extremely weak signal to other pods or a complete loss of Internet connection.
Solid blue light: The WiFi Extender will briefly display a solid blue light during the initial start-up phase.
Flashing blue light: A slowly flashing blue light will appear when the WPS button is pushed and held for two seconds. Once a WPS connection has successfully been established, the light will be solid blue. If the light starts flashing rapidly, this means the WPS connection was not successful, and you should try again.
If the light is red and flashing rapidly, the WiFi Extender has lost its connection and is trying to reconnect.
If no light is on, the WiFi Extender is turned off. Make sure that both ends of the power cable are firmly pushed into the power outlet and the back of the WiFi Extender. Make sure the power button is set to «ON». If there’s still no light after a minute, follow the installation steps again. If you think your WiFi extender may be broken, please contact our support.
Frequently asked questions about the WiFi Extender
Our WiFi Extenders use smart WiFi mesh technology to improve and increase the WiFi reception of your home Internet modem.
The extenders are designed to work directly with your Connect Box modem in order to provide better coverage and faster speeds throughout your home. The intelligent technology inside both the WiFi Extender and the modem work together to ensure that every device in your home receives the best possible signal by detecting both your own network and neighbouring networks that could cause interference.
The WiFi Extender is compatible with the following modems: Connect Box 1, 2, 3 and 3 Fiber.
If the LED flashes white, this means that the WiFi Extender can’t establish a connection with the Connect Box modem. Either the extender is not configured for your modem or it’s too far away.
Please turn off your modem and disconnect all extenders. Make sure that your WiFi Extender is no more than six to nine metres away from your modem and that there are no obstacles blocking your WiFi signal. Turn on the modem, wait five minutes and then reconnect the WiFi Extender.
If the LED doesn’t light up, this means that the WiFi Extender is not being supplied with power or is experiencing a hardware problem. Please check whether the power outlet works with a different device. Check the power supply to the WiFi Extender and ensure that the cable is plugged into both the WiFi Extender and the power outlet and that the power button is in the «ON» position.
If the WiFi Extender fails to improve performance, it means that either there’s a problem with where it’s been positioned or you need multiple WiFi Extenders.
Please connect the extender in a location that has a good WiFi signal and is no more than nine metres from the modem. Make sure there are no obstacles in the vicinity of the WiFi Extender.
If the WiFi Extender has been positioned as described and the WiFi signal is still poor, you may need an additional WiFi Extender. But first try scanning the WiFi using the Sunrise Connect App in order to better identify areas of poor reception within the household.
Yes. The WPS function of the WiFi Extender enables devices that support this function to connect more easily to the home network. To do this, press and hold the WPS button on the front of the WiFi Extender until the blue light appears and then follow the device’s instructions.
Yes. It’s possible to connect the WiFi Extender directly to the modem via a LAN cable in order to ensure the best connection and the fastest-possible speed.
The WiFi Extender has two LAN/Ethernet ports. This means you can either connect devices like a games console directly to the WiFi Extender or connect the WiFi Extender directly to your modem.
A CAT6 Ethernet cable will deliver the best performance.
Yes, the external power adapter (PSU) can be connected to a power strip if several devices are to be supplied from one power outlet.
