Hot six packs in «Magic Mike’s Last Dance»: available in the VoD store from May 11
Whether he’s performing a sexy male strip routine in a luxury villa in Florida, even using all the furniture, or a hot show dance on a stage with artificial rain in London, Magic Mike (Channing Tatum) never fails to deliver. In between all this, there’s lots of retro, heartache, business posturing and rehearsals for the grand finale. Steven Soderbergh, the original director, delivers a brilliant finale to his deftly sensual trilogy of male stripper movies.
Franchise shocks in «Scream 6»: available in the VoD store from May
In what is now the sixth installment in the slasher series, the survivors of the previous movie move from Woodsboro to New York City. But even here, they can’t escape the Ghostface killer, who soon sets out to hunt them down with new rules. This time, on top of plenty of franchise knowledge, fans can also enjoy masterful sequences intended to shock as well as a finale that is befitting of the previous scary movies. Instead of Neve Campbell, this movie features «Wednesday» star Jenna Ortega.
Lots of drama in «Creed III»: available in the VoD store from May 4
Although «Creed III» doesn’t star Sylvester «Rocky» Stallone, the movie is subtitled «Rocky’s Legacy». But there’s plenty of drama simply because the lead actor and first-time director Michael B. Jordan has to face off against Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors) in the boxing ring, who happens to be an old childhood friend who was once considered the sport’s child prodigy. As such, «Creed III» is a very different kind of «Rocky».
Black humor in «The Banshees of Inisherin»: available in the VoD store from May 12
In Martin McDonagh’s black tragicomedy, Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson end up in a tricky situation when one of them suddenly ends their long-standing friendship. The conflict is an allegory of the Irish Civil War – and at the same time a stoic, darkly humorous comedy with a typical Irish feel. Tremendous acting!
Spielberg’s memoirs in «The Fabelmans»: available in the VoD store from May 25
In Stephen Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama, a boy discovers his love of film as his family threatens to fall apart. While previous dramas from the brilliant director have often been too corny or too dramatic, here he strikes the perfect balance between tragedy and comedy. This makes «The Fabelmans» one of Spielberg’s very best works as a director.

Thrilling suspense in «Missing»: available in the VoD store from May 11
In this desktop thriller narrated exclusively on computer screens, young June (Storm Reid) searches the Internet for her missing mother Grace (Nia Long) who’s traveling through Colombia with her new boyfriend Kevin (Ken Leung). Freely embracing the motto «Show me your Google accounts and I'll tell you where you are», «Missing» is a thrilling sequel that sticks with the narrative form of the precursor «Searching» from 2018 with new characters and situations.
Old-school action in «Plane»: available in the VoD store from May 24
In this action thriller, Gerard Butler is a pilot who’s forced to land his storm-damaged plane in a war zone and then rescue his 14 passengers from the clutches of rebels. Former French Foreign Legion fighter Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter) is there to assist him right on cue. The story may be simple, but the way it’s portrayed as an old-school action movie is very effective. The very sight of a plane crashing will fill some people who are scared of flying with a sense of fear and dread. And yes, Gerard Butler is still a reliable action star.
