Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) enjoy an amazing first date. But their passion crumbles when faced with adverse circumstances and they go their separate ways. The last place either of them would have expected to cross paths again is at a wedding in Australia. And even though they can’t stand each other, they have to pretend to be a couple. – Romantic fling with hot bods and six-packs galore! 

Paul Giamatti in «The Holdovers»: available in the VoD store from 4 April

In Alexander Payne’s highly amusing retro comedy, Paul Giamatti («Sideways») plays an unpopular teacher forced to look after the students who can’t go home for the holidays. Fortunately, chef Mary (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) is there to act as an emotional buffer. – No artificial sets were used for this movie and all filming took place at real locations. The schools Groton, Northfield Mount Hermon, St. Mark’s School, Fairhaven High School and Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts featured as shooting locations. 

Forlorn future in «The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes»: available in the VoD store from 4 April

In this «Hunger Games» prequel, a very young Coriolanus Snow is selected as a mentor for the 10th Hunger Games. Although he comes from a modest background, he faces a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when his graduating class is chosen to mentor the tributes who are due to fight to the death in an arena. – Suspenseful prequel based on the novel by Suzanne Collins, which takes place 64 years before the original film trilogy.

Football comedy in «Next Goal Wins»: available in the VoD store from 9 April

After suffering a defeat, Dutch football coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender) loses his job. The only way he can continue working as a coach is to join the team from American Samoa. – «Next Goal Wins» tells the funny and ironic story of the world’s worst football team – and that of the first transgender player ever to compete at a world cup: Faʻafafine Jaiyah Saelua performed many of the football stunts for her character (Kaimana) herself.

In this slasher film based on Eli Roth’s fake trailer for the «Grindhouse» project by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, an axe-wielding serial killer is on the loose in a small town, wreaking havoc during the holidays. – The opening scenes offer an ingenious critique of society, revolving around the annual Black Friday madness, while the rest of the film delivers solid off-the-shelf horror.

She co-produced the film about her life and has been accused of being a traitor on several occasions. A cinematic counterpart to the dazzling «Elvis» biopic by Baz Luhrman. 

 

Teen musical «Mean Girls»: available in the VoD store from 11 April 

 

Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) grew up way outside the social pecking order of American high schools and experiences quite the shock when she stumbles into an unfamiliar world at her new school. Janis (Auli'i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey) help her navigate the challenges. When a popular clique of girls takes the naive student under its wing, trouble is inevitable. – The latest «Mean Girls» adaptation has closer ties to the successful Broadway musical than the original film. The perfect fare for a girls’ night in!
