Dominance on the World Cup stage

Sunrise accompanied Swiss-Ski to 17 World Cup events in all disciplines and was there to witness many great triumphs up close. The Swiss athletes performed brilliantly, racking up an impressive 26 World Championship medals, 132 podium finishes and six crystal globes, cementing their dominance in winter sports.

Unforgettable moments at every venue

Sunrise created special experiences at a number of major events with dedicated activation areas and exclusive lounges. Fans had the opportunity to experience winter sports events up close, enjoy a first-class view of all the action and really savour the special atmosphere at each venue. In Adelboden, for example, customers were not just able to enjoy the immersive experience of the Sunrise Cupola, but also got to enjoy the best view of the impressive finish slope from the exclusive Sunrise Lounge. Sunrise was also present at many locations with an activation container including a Speed Challenge, where fans could test themselves against Marco Odermatt and other stars.

Historic triumph at the World Championships

The 2025 Alpine Ski World Championships in Saalbach made history for Swiss sport. In the first-ever men’s team combined event, the Swiss celebrated a sensational triple victory. Franjo von Allmen and Loïc Meillard secured gold, followed by their compatriots Alexis Monney/Tanguy Nef (silver) and Marc Rochat/Stefan Rogentin (bronze).

Outstanding individual performances

Marco Odermatt continued his impressive winning streak. Last season’s overall World Cup winner once again dominated the giant slalom, Super-G and downhill competitions. When he picked up the 41st of his 45 World Cup victories, he overtook Pirmin Zurbriggen to become the most successful male Swiss ski racer of all time.

Lara Gut-Behrami also had an impressive season. Last year’s overall World Cup winner proved her versatility with excellent finishes in several disciplines. Her victory in the Super-G discipline in 2024/2025 confirmed her status as one of the best female skiers of her generation.

Fanny Smith also delivered an excellent performance this season, winning the overall Ski Cross World Cup for the fourth time and being crowned double world champion at her home World Championships in Engadine.

Digital innovations: The Swiss-Ski app and goggle cams

A milestone in the partnership between Swiss-Ski and Sunrise was the launch of the Swiss-Ski app. This innovative platform takes fans even closer to their favourite athletes and offers exclusive insights, live updates and interactive features.

At the Freestyle World Championships in St. Moritz, Sunrise participated in an innovative project in which the ski-cross athletes wore a goggle cam* and a 5G router for the first time. The goal was to allow ski fans at home to get even closer to the action or even get them out on the slopes. Individual scenes filmed by the goggle cams were broadcast live on TV by SRF, giving viewers at home a completely new perspective, showing what the elite skiers could actually see  themselves. The potential of these goggle cams is enormous, especially in a sport like ski-cross.

* A goggle cam is a camera that can be attached to the ski goggles. The camera is connected via 5G to a router that the athletes carry on their person.

Looking to the future

As the main sponsor of the Freestyle World Championships, Sunrise has also emphasised its commitment to the diversity of snow sports and promoted the spectacular disciplines that are particularly popular with a young audience.

The partnership between Swiss-Ski and Sunrise has set a new benchmark this season. By being present at these events, Sunrise was able to boost awareness of its brand with an emotional touch. This means that a direct link has been created between our brand and unforgettable moments.

Looking to the future, fans can look forward to lots more innovative projects and exciting competitions that will continue to champion Swiss winter sports.
