Setting up WiFi via the Connect App – switching modem

Start by selecting your previous modem to apply your current WiFi settings. This will connect your devices to the WiFi automatically once you’ve set it up via the Connect App.

Switching from one Connect Box to another Connect Box

1. Modem switch – applying WiFi settings

Did you previously have a Connect Box 1 or a Connect Box 2 and you now have a Connect Box 3 or Connect Box 3 Fiber? If so, it’s easy to apply your previous WiFi settings. But before you connect and install your new modem, please follow steps 2 and 3.

2. Download the app and log in
  1. Download the Connect app from the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android):



  2. Log in using your My Sunrise login details.

    Once you’ve logged in with your password, you’ll receive an email with a code that you’ll need to enter into the app. This is for your security so that no unauthorised persons can access your WiFi settings.

To access My Sunrise, you’ll need your email address, account number or phone number and your password.

3. Saving network settings
  1. Go to the «For you» screen and tap on the settings icon at the top left.

  2. Make sure the «Auto-restore network settings» switch is enabled. Once it is, your Connect Box settings will be stored in the cloud.

  3. You can now restore your modem settings. This is convenient if you’ve switched modem or if you need to perform a factory reset for your Connect Box.

4. Installing modem
  1. Start by unplugging your old modem.

  2. You can now connect and install your Connect Box 3 / 3 Fiber. You’ll find the corresponding installation instructions here.

  3. The first thing you'll see is the factory-set network name (SSID). After a few minutes, you'll see the network name you've used previously and your devices will connect automatically.

As soon as the modem is ready for use, the white LED will light up continuously.

Switching from Sunrise Internet Box to Connect Box

1. Modem switch – have your WiFi login details available
  1. Did you previously have a modem from the Sunrise Internet Box range and now have a Connect Box 3 or Connect Box 3 Fiber? If you’re unsure whether you previously had a Sunrise Internet Box (Fiber/Fiber Zyxel), click on our device overview page Using a modem for more information.

  2. Make sure you have your current WiFi login details (name and password) on hand so that all your devices will be reconnected automatically once your WiFi is set up.

2. Installing modem
  1. Start by unplugging your old modem.

  2. You can now connect and install your Connect Box 3 / 3 Fiber. You’ll find the corresponding installation instructions here.

4. Go to «Devices»

Go to «Devices» and click on the WiFi icon in the middle of the device view.

5. Editing the WiFi network

Go to «WiFi Networks», select your network and then click on the edit icon.

6. Selecting the WiFi name and password
  1. Enter your previous network name and WiFi password so that your devices reconnect to the WiFi automatically. You can also set a new name and new password – in this case, you'll need to enter the new login details on your devices manually.

  2. Wait a few minutes. You’ll then need to update the WiFi login details on all your devices, including those on which the Connect app is installed.

7. Saving network settings

1. Go to the «For you» screen and tap on the settings icon at the top left.
