  • Generally

    • In order for us to clearly identify you, we need a scan of a valid official identification document (an identity card, passport, or residence permit). A driver's license is not permitted.
    • Beginning in 2018, Sunrise – as a telecommunications provider – is legally required by the Federal Mail and Telecommunications Monitoring Act (Bundesgesetz zur Überwachung des Post- und Fernmeldeverkehrs, BÜPF) to identify all customers by means of a valid ID and to store a digital copy of this ID in the customer's account.

    How to scan in your ID:

    Procedure

    • Please scan a valid ID with the camera on your mobile phone.
    • Depending on the type of ID, you may need to scan both the front and the back.
    • Place the ID in front of you on a stable surface.

    ID types

    • Passport (front only)
    • ID (front and back)
    • Foreigner ID card (front and back)

    Examples:

    Scanner does not function

    • Please verify that you are scanning a valid and approved ID document and try again.
    • If the scanner still does not function, click on the link "Online Order Acceptance" in the e-mail you received.
    • Identification will be done by the mail carrier.
  • Generally

    • When your ID has been scanned in, you will be asked to record a short 5-second video in order to accurately and securely identify you as a new customer.
    • After successful verification, the video will automatically be deleted and not stored.

    I do not want to record a video of my face

    • When you place your order, select "Identification by mail carrier". This means you will have to be personally present when the package is delivered so you can confirm your identity.
    • If you have already selected identification through the Sunrise ID Checker app and now prefer to have your identity confirmed by the mail carrier, you can change this selection via the e-mail that you received for identification.
    • Click on the "Online order acceptance" link at the end of the e-mail and confirm the change you want to make.
  • Generally

    • Your digital signature via the app is legally valid.
    • You can easily sign by using your finger or a touch pen.

    • All data is protected as specified by the latest security standards (ISO27001).
    • Data entered electronically is used only to fulfill legal obligations. No data is stored locally on the smartphone.

  • ID Checker app does not detect QR code after scanning

    • Make sure that the QR code was sent to you by Sunrise via e-mail and that it is still valid (20 days after receipt of the e-mail)
    • Once you have started the identification process, make sure that you continue and complete the process with the same device you started it with.

    Scanner does not function
