With SCION GATE, sensitive company data is isolated from the global Internet, even for workplaces outside of your company network, which means it can no longer be the target of cyberattacks.
SCION GATE takes security to a new level and now also provides maximum reliability, security and control when transferring data from workplaces located outside of company headquarters. With SCION GATE, you can share the benefits of SCION with branch locations, partner organizations and home-office employees.
SCION GATE acts as a gateway that connects external users at remote workplaces to your SCION network. External users access your isolation domain (ISD) via SCION GATE. As a result, your company has secure access to sensitive applications outside of your business location, isolated from the rest of the Internet – without the need to install additional hardware or software. With a Sunrise Mobile subscription, this is even possible when you’re on the go.
Your SCION network access outside your company location
Flexible working models and home office are now an integral part of everyday business. Data is particularly exposed to the dangers of the Internet in off-site locations. How can users working from home or from other remote workplaces be given access to the SCION-protected services? How can you provide partner organizations or branch locations with secure access to your SCION ISD? This is where SCION GATE comes in. It gives remote users easy access to your SCION ecosystem, without any additional edge routers or software.
Anapaya GATE: Gateway for the integration of workplaces outside of your company network into the SCION ecosystem
Our partner: Anapaya
The Swiss software company Anapaya Systems AG is the provider of SCION technology, which was developed at ETH. As an ETH spin-off, Anapaya has enabled Sunrise to offer SCION ecosystems to its business customers.
Cyberattacks pose a risk to many industries
All kinds of industries fall victim to cyberattacks and the number of these attacks is increasing every year. Downtime, data loss, manipulation and financial losses are the results. Taking the example of a prestigious Swiss bank, Anapaya shows you how the bank uses a SCION Swiss ISD to protect itself successfully against DDoS attacks. Sensitive data are exchanged via defined paths in a highly secure ecosystem – isolated from the global Internet and thus invisible to cyberattacks. FAQs
SCION enables data transmission exclusively between authenticated participants in a closed ecosystem that is invisible to the global Internet. This includes all companies or locations that are members of the same ISD (isolation domain). Your organization can join an ISD if it acquires a certificate. Thanks to constant path control, no hidden paths can be used within an ISD, unlike on the Internet. This means that paths and data packages are always under control.
SCION GATE is designed specifically for remote working. This makes it perfect for companies with a large number of home-office and branch-office employees, where data transfers and applications need to be protected and monitored via highly secure, clearly defined Internet pathways, e.g., banks, insurance companies or medical providers with remote-working facilities.
The prerequisite for SCION GATE is to have a SCION Edge service at your company location. A specific ISD, additional hard- or software is not required at the remote locations. Your employees, branch locations or partners simply access your ISD via the SCION Home User Gateway and only need an IP VPN client.
You can subscribe to the GATE services for a specified number of users. Sunrise Business obtains the IP addresses for the applications in question and, thanks to SCION GATE, the users are then given a specific route that links their Internet access point to the SCION Internet to reach the protected applications.
